Dovecote
After obtaining planning permission to carry out the work, the first step we took was starting the excavation process. On this particular project, it involved taking 300 tonnes of soil away from the site. The foundation and footings were then laid in preparation for new turning to be built.
To retain gardens on both sides, walls were constructed from solid concrete and then faced with beautiful hand-cut sandstone walling and finished with sawn sandstone copping stones.
We then laid reclaimed cobbles to the perimeter of the driveway and a full cobble set entrance apron area. All materials used were in keeping with the local area.
New drainage and level changes were considered to create smooth gradients to the front door area, which allowed us to remove the steps. A new vehicle opening was also installed to local highway specifications leaving only the final asphalt layers to be applied.
