Meols Drive

This unique detached property is close to the roundabout leading on Meols Drive in Hoylake. The home had recently been fully renovated but the driveway was still using old paving stones.

Our client wanted a self-draining permeable driveway which was hard-wearing, maintenance-free and attractive. A resin-bound gravel driveway was, therefore, the perfect solution.

Meols Drive

The existing paving stones were hand lifted and stacked on pallets ready for reuse at another location. After a reduction in sub-foundation layers, we laid an open graded, reduced fine Type 1 MOT Stone Foundation.

The next job involved installing a row of drainage linear channels across the centre of the driveway. Following this, a double band of block pavers was installed around the full perimeter of the driveway and a single layer of open graded base course was put down. The final coat to be applied was the 18mm of resin bound gravel.
